This year has been full of challenges, changes, and Coronavirus! Despite this we have been working hard to support the children and young people both in Devon and Worcestershire!
We have seen a massive rise in mental health issues in children and young people during this year and we, alongside schools and other organisations have provided support and resources to educate, empower and equip pupils to look after their mental health.
Over lockdown 1 we provided teachers with resources that they could use in school and send out via home learning.
Since September we have been back in schools and with the addition of our HeadsUP Worcestershire we have been able to support 1000’s of young people across the two counties, in class sessions, small group sessions and 1-1 sessions.
We have been working alongside our partner organisations: Primary Sports and Education, Exeter City Community Trust and Worcester Warriors. The joint sessions have a massive impact in getting our message across and it is always a pleasure to join up with other great organisations in the community.
We would again like to thank our funders who have enabled us to provide our sessions for FREE to schools in 2020: Tesco Centenary Fund, National Lottery Community Fund, The Elmgrant Trust, National Lottery Covid-19 Fund and The Wake Fund.
In 2021 we have addition funding from Postcode Community Trust and Waitrose for Worcestershire and Comic Relief Community Fund for Devon.
We know that 2021 won’t be easy, and will bring a whole set of extra challenges, changes and different variants of Coronavirus! However, we are ready for whatever 2021 brings and we are well equipped to do what we do best – supporting children and young people with their mental health.
